Winter...in an Artist's Perspective.

Here in the Northeast winter has arrived.....With temperatures below freezing we as people tend to hibernate and spend more time indoors. For us , crafters and artisans, it's a perfect opportunity to get busy in the studio.

This season has inspired me to create a place I always love to visit, the Pocono mountains.I decided to re-produce its elements abstractly in this new piece

Nature's Elements

I started with gray charcoal / pastel paper and began sketching out the scene with my dark vine charcoal, then used white charcoal and pastel to bring out the highlights and midtones.

What are you crafting up this winter? How does the winter season serve as inspiration to your work? Do you have any special projects you are working on...We love to hear your comments....
